Clear answers about the private save, game clock, actions, people, travel, and the current launch game.

01

Starting and saving

What is The Life Engine?

A single-player life game set on Contemporary Earth. Each account has one private save and one active character.

Where does a new game begin?

Every new life begins in 2026 in the United States, Canada, or Mexico. You choose the country and first-level area during character creation.

Can I reset and start again?

Yes. Reset permanently removes the current game while keeping the account so you can create another life.

02

Time and actions

Does time pass while I am away?

No. The game stays where you left it until you choose an action or advance time.

How does an action affect time?

Every action shows its exact duration before you choose it. The result shows the start time, finish time, elapsed time, and stat changes.

What happens when I advance time?

The clock moves by the amount you select. Needs and ordinary background conditions change during the gap, and any resulting record appears in your Story.

03

The playable loops

What can I do now?

You can manage basic needs, work and earn money, move money between cash and bank, build relationships, travel between supported countries, and review the Story of the save.

Why are future systems on the Roadmap?

They are expansion ideas, not hidden launch features. Systems such as deep government, business ownership, medicine, property, crime, and space will be designed again after the launch game is stable.

Is this multiplayer?

No. People in the game are simulated characters inside your private save.
